What does a 21.5 stone vegan NFL player eat every day?

The short answer is a LOT.

IN 2014, CHICAGO Bears defensive lineman David Carter had enough of suffering from persistent injury (tendonitis) and fatigue so decided to switch to a 100% vegan diet.

In a recent interview with GQ, the 21.5 stone (136kg, 300lb) Carter said the change of diet caused him to lose nearly three stone (18kg, 40lb) but he soon put it back on.

Carter also told the magazine he has to consume about 10,000 calories in a normal day and that he tries to eat at least 1.2 lbs of protein every day.

The former Oakland Raider broke down his daily routines as follows:

Breakfast
Oatmeal with hemp protein, bananas and berries.
Lunch
Brown rice and black beans topped with avocado and cashew cheese.
Another lunch
More of the brown rice and black bean combo.
Dinner
Couscous with onion and garlic, and spinach salad with bell peppers.

All of which are interspersed with 20oz fruit and veg smoothies.
